Kokino is located in the countryside, in the vygonichsky district of the Bryansk region of Russia, located 23 kilometers from Bryansk and 2 kilometers from the Federal highway M13. Population: 3.863, 4.710.
1. History. (История)
The Slavic population appeared in this region in the 9th century. However, surrounding villages in the area of kokino are only mentioned historically from the beginning of the 17th century. The first mention of Kokino was in 1610, when Bryansk nobleman Vasily Ivanovich Tyutchev was granted the estate, which included Kokino and a number of villages. Was built a wooden Church and a manor house.
The last owner was pomeshchitsa Varvara Nikolayevna Bezobrazova. After her death in 1828, for lack of heirs, the property was given into custody, and later sold. In 1830 the estate passed into the possession of Lieutenant D. P. Khalayev Colonel. The last owner was the Trubchevsk district leader of nobility N. N. Khalayev.
In 1930, the kokino Church of the Holy virgin was closed and converted into a club. In 1938, a priest Andrey Pokrovskiy was arrested. After the war the Church was demolished, the vaults were destroyed, and the cemetery around the Church was demolished. Currently, the site of the temple is a monument to Lenin.

The largest organization employer in Kokino is the BSAA. Some 344 teachers working in the school. The village has several small shops, marketing mostly food products and household chemicals, also there is a small market.
Kokino is connected to Bryansk with municipal buses and private taxis with an interval of about twenty minutes.

School in Kokino was founded in 1876. In 1906 was built a new mansion, now building of education No. 4 BSAA. Bryansk state agricultural Academy BSAA Institute was established on 1 October 1930. In the 1980s, he was known as Bryansk agricultural Institute and renamed in 1995. The Institute has an considerable library of some 410.000 volumes.
